McDonald Park Primary School is committed to giving every student the opportunity to achieve their potential in a caring and safe educational environment that embraces our values of respect, generosity and honesty. We provide a balanced and challenging curriculum that caters for students’ individual needs and talents, with an emphasis on developing literacy and numeracy skills. We have a strong focus on wellbeing, offering social learning programs that develop a student’s social, emotional and spiritual wellbeing. A peer support program operates in the yard, as well as supervised lunchtime activities.

Students have an active role in decision-making via a student leadership team, representative groups and class meetings. In recent years we have undergone a major redevelopment program, which included refurbishment to the main building, and a new administration block, resource centre, gymnasium and classroom block. Outside we provide a number of flexible learning spaces including four playgrounds. Families come from a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds, and take pride in the school. There is a high level of parent participation and support, which is greatly valued.

We acknowledge the traditional owners throughout South Australia and we pay respect to the custodians of the land on which we live and learn.
We respect their spiritual relationship with Country and acknowledge that their cultural and heritage beliefs are still as important to those living today.
We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging and we acknowledge the cultural authority of Aboriginal people visiting from other areas of South Australia and Australia.
